Seminars at Crossroads
 During
the course of the year, Crossroads provides seminars intended to help
serve the needs our church and of the broader Durham Community. Listed
below are some of the seminars that we offer periodically during the
year.
ALPHA
A Place to Bring Your Questions
Each year, Crossroads offers a ten week seminar called
Alpha,
intended to answer some of the basic questions seekers ask about
Christianity.
In the last 10 years, over one million people around the world have
attended an Alpha seminar. The format of this program includes food,
video presentations and small group discussions with other seekers who
have real questions about the Christian faith.
Alpha is a wonderful way to find out more about Christianity and is
a safe place to bring your questions and doubts. It is also a good way
to meet other people wanting to get reconnected with God and who are
beginning their spiritual journey. For more information about Alpha

Spiritual Growth Seminars
Our goal is
to not only help people get connected to God, but to grow in their
relationship to God and to make a difference in other people’s lives
that will last for eternity. Our CLASS (Christian Life And
Service Seminars) structure
reflects the four areas of growth we hope to see each of us make steps
towards. For those of you who
will become a part of our church life, we ask that you attend each
of the following CLASSes, with the goal of becoming a growing, healthy,
and reproducing Christian who is a vital part of what God wants to do
through our church community.
A three hour seminar that introduces those who
have been attending Crossroads for some time to the vision, values
and mission of our church, and allows people a clear picture of how
they can take a next step in their journey with God. Some of what is
addressed in this seminar:
- Where we began
- Values, vision and mission of our church
- Our path for further involvement
- How to become a member

During the course of a year Crossroads will offer various
seminars designed to help us mature in our faith. For example:
- 'Walk Through The Bible' (Old and New Testaments)
- 'Power and Passion in Prayer'
- 'Managing Your Money God's Way'

This three or four session seminar helps those who are
part of the Crossroads community understand themselves better and
find a place in the church where they can best develop and use their
gifts. This seminar is designed to help each Christian discover the
unique way God has gifted them, understand the concept of spiritual
gifts better and learn to appreciate and use the gifts God's Spirit
has entrusted to them in ministry.
The Seminar will help participants discover:
- their spiritual gifts
- the passion of their heart
- their abilities
- their personality mix
- the experiences that have
shaped who they are.

This seminar is a wonderful way to help
Christians learn how to share their faith in a natural style that
fits their personality and is contagious. The four session seminar
includes such issues as:
- Finding your evangelism style
- Building relationships that are authentic
- Learning to share what you believe
- Addressing objections to Christianity.
